Nights 1 & 2: Vocal Techniques

- Breathing for Singers: Learn proper breathing techniques to support vocal production and maintain control.
- Mastering Your Chest Voice: Develop strength and resonance in the lower register of your voice for a fuller sound.
- Mastering Your Falsetto Voice: Explore techniques to strengthen and control your falsetto register for versatility in your vocal range.
- Upper Extension for High Voices: Expand your vocal range and develop control over higher notes with exercises tailored for upper extension.
- Singing Vowels: Practice shaping and sustaining vowel sounds to improve clarity and resonance in your singing.

The class will meet on Monday 7/22, Tuesday 7/23, Wednesday 7/24, and Thursday 7/25 from 7:30PM to 9PM at Dog House Music Studios in Lafayette, CO. All musical genres, ability levels and ages are warmly welcome (for those under 18, please have a parent or guardian reach out to us before signing up).
Instructor Bio
Joshua South, singing teacher and opera singer has performed with 50 Cent, Paul McCartney, Kelli O’Hara, Kelsey Grammar, Brian Dennehy, and many other world class singers and conductors at many world class venues like Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. He has been a member of several world class vocal ensembles, including The Clarion Choir (2017 GRAMMY nomination for Best Choral Performance), St Thomas Men and Boys Choir, New York City Opera Chorus, New York Choral Artists, the Bard Opera Chorus, and has sung on numerous SAG/AFTRA major motion picture soundtracks.
Career highlights include a Carnegie Hall debut in the New York Philharmonic’s West Side Story Suites, an Avery Fisher Hall debut with the American Symphony Orchestra. Joshua also appeared at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in the critically-acclaimed staging of Bach's St. Matthew Passion, directed by Sir Jonathan Miller.
He has performed in Brazil, Italy, Austria, and gave a 2-week recital and masterclass tour in China, with performances in Shanghai and Xiamen. Joshua holds a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree from Birmingham-Southern College. He currently teaches private singing and music lessons in Boulder, CO.

Our mission at Dog House Music is to give musicians the freedom to create, the power to perform, and the space to come together. This studio is a hub for local bands and musicians looking to write, rehearse, record, perform, and distribute their music. We invite you to join us in the studio; all ages and all abilities.
We work with musicians looking for everything from recording and videography services to rehearsal studio space. Dog House Music is made up of 23 sound-isolated studios, including two fully equipped Practice Studios, a fully backlined Stage Studio A, and a recording studio suite made up of a live room, control room, and two isolation booths.
Dog House Music is first and foremost a local family-owned business, and we prioritize our local community here in Lafayette, Colorado. We invite you into the studio to listen, create, find inspiration, and love music.
