Channing is a musician, teacher, performer, and certified music therapist at Dog House Music. Chan is known for her eclectic style, derived from classical technique, traditional New Orleans jazz, years of sailing throughout the Caribbean, and years of travel through folk music circles as an agricultural laborer.  With 32 years of technique on the clarinet, 20 years on alto-saxophone, 16 years on guitar and clawhammer banjo, and over 2,200 professional gigs under her belt, she embodies music and brings a seasoned musician’s vibe to the studio.

With a Bachelor’s Degree of Music in Music Therapy, Chan teaches from a student-based model where each student’s unique learning style helps to guide the session and the student dictates the pace of learning.  Above all, Chan understands that FUN is what motivates us and believes that music is a pre-historic art that connects people through self-expression.
